Q. If my pet goes swimming, or gets caught in the rain,
will Advantage® remain effective?
A. Advantage® is water resistant, and should continue to be
effective even if your pet goes swimming or gets caught in the rain.
Q. Can I give my pet a bath every week?
A. Advantage® will continue to work if you bathe your animal
on a regular basis. If your pet requires frequent bathing, reapplication
may be required more than once monthly.
Q. What is the difference between Advantage® & BioSpot®?
A. BioSpot® and Advantage® are both topical flea products. They
both kill adult fleas. BioSpot® will also repel fleas and contains an
Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) which kills the flea eggs and stops
development. The permethrin in BioSpot® repels and kills mosquitoes
and ticks.
Q. Is this product safe for use around small children? Is it
toxic to humans?
A. As with any flea product, you should take care while applying
to your pet. After application, wash your hands with soap and water to
make sure that the Advantage® doesn't irritate your skin. Advantage® dries
very fast and should not harm people petting the treated animal. Small
children should avoid handling the treated pet for a day or two until the
product is fully absorbed into the oil glands in the skin.
